Please pray for my dd (St. Therese) and ds (St. Anthony) as we count down the minutes to their Confirmation this evening (7:00 AZ time.) Pray also for their 88 peers who will also be confirmed! Pray especially for Fr. Tim Davern as he confirms our children.
I'm praying for all of your intentions and it has been my loss to have missed posting replies lately.

Glory to Jesus Christ! How exciting for Devin Kate and Aiden. May Sts. Therese and Anthony intercede for them both tonight. Holy Spirit be with Fr. Tim and all those receiving their Sacraments tonight.
God bless the Phoenix diocese on the decision to Confirm early.
May God grant Devin and Aiden many blessed years in health and happiness.

Praying! I love this Sacrament! How exciting!
Is the Confirmation early in terms of age or time of year? I thought Confirmations were typically between Easter and Pentecost.
Oooops! I just noticed your children's ages, so I see that it is age.....but also time of year????

Angie..........we could not pray before the confirmation.......so, we will pray they both are filled with the gifts of the Holy Ghost, and become committed Christians......soldiers of Christ, our King.
ps........we were having fun today imagining our trip to see you in june 2007! we even had the atlas out! we just might drive to Lake Charles from there!

Here's information on the exciting turn of events here in the Diocese of Phoenix regarding Confirmation.
Thank you all so very much for holding us in prayer. I'm actually speechless! Hopefully today or tomorrow I'll post Devin's narration about last night.

Angie, I read the first part of the article...fantastic!!! I've been involved with Confirmation in some way or another here in San Diego for about 12 years. I used to be so sure that receiving this Sacrament in the teens years was good (them making the choice for themselves...stuff like that), but have really changed my feelings towards it all. I love the new changes in your diocese!! You are so lucky! Let's pray that, someday soon, this will be the norm across the country!

I am so excited to let you know that I had my meeting with our pastor today and he agreed to allow our 9 and 14 yo dss to be confirmed together this May and I'll do all the preparation!!
I was also very pleased to hear that Fr. had already been considering lowering the age in our parish to 6th grade but when he saw Bishop Olmstead's guidelines he asked to a make a copy and might want to consider it for our parish.
He thought the idea of receiving Confirmation and then 1st Holy Communion was really beautiful and he mentioned Bishop Olmstead is a very holy bishop.
The meeting went *very* well and I was really happy to have the Pheonix guidelines with me. Thanks Angie!!
