Please pray for us as we wait for the Navy to decide whether we will move (far away) or stay here. We have a 12th-grader applying to colleges this fall (needless to say, we have not looked at out of state schools).
ETA: Update below!

You will not believe this.
After I finished posting my prayer request, my husband called. It's a real honor to be selected for a second command tour (there were only three slots open), and God has done something truly amazing.
There are three commands, Georgia, Hawaii and Maryland.
One selectee has a daughter going to school in Georgia.
Another owns a home in Hawaii and plans to retire there.
We live in Maryland and my son wants to go to college here - and there's the dance thing, too.
Guess what! The Navy is sending everyone to the most logical place! We will have, for the first time in dh's career, three tours in a row in one location.
I burst into tears after I hung up the phone. I am so blessed to be able to stay in my home a while longer. I can put up with being Mrs. CO again because I will be in the place I call home. God is so, so good. My parish, our co-op, college, dance...we have it all for another year at least.
Thank you so much for your prayers!
(Going to get a tissue - crying again - )

Oh, wow Nancy.. how wonderful!
I can truly appreciate how rare that is. Dh is active duty AF and just at the Squadron CC level (O-5) with 18 yrs active duty time. To be in one place for 3 tours! wow!
God is good. I'll keep you in my prayers this next year in your role again as Mrs. CO. That's not an easy job for sure.
Blessings to you and yours!

We won't see orders until next week, so please keep praying. Things look good, though.
At least this time I live off base. That makes a big difference. I can do social events and invite the command to my house with no problem. It's the on-base life that's hard when you're the CO's wife. (Somehow you have three heads and eyeballs on stalks; it's weird.)
My dh says he placed the whole thing in the Blessed Mother's hands (he has a strong devotion to her and prays the rosary daily), and so he is trusting that we are going where we'll do the most good.

Yes, it is WEIRD. And we're low-ish on the CO totem pole-- although here at this base they have all of us in the same housing area. We already stick out like sore thumbs because we have 6 kiddos with one on the way. All that plus the fact that we HS ---just makes us even more visible (if that's possible )

Awesome!!! The military world is very foreign to me, my dad was a Marine, but was pretty much done by the time I came along. It all sounds very stressful at times, when you all share peeks into your life, I appreciate the service of all of your husbands, knowing that this is actually "family" service with mama bearing the brunt of a lot. God Bless you, Nancy, and your family and sending up thanksgivings for your recent blessings!!
