Please say a prayer for my precious little girl who is 4 weeks old. I think she has some colic - she has started crying a lot - but is always fine if I carry her or have her in the Moby. It started off with the same time each evening but she also has some other fussy phases in the day. I don't think it is reflux as she does not spit up at all. Also she is all peaceful and smiley as long as she is carried upright. I am a little worried in case she is allergic to something I am eating. I am going to order some Mylicon or Gripe Water - though I have never used them with any other baby. I am trying not to get all worried - but it is so hard to see her cry at those times when I am just not able to carry her and when older siblings are not there to help (eg cooking dinner, taking care of the one year old)
Please pray for her and for me to be peaceful.

I went through something similar with one of my boys and my last daughter. It was hard because you hate to see them cry. It lasted for the first 3 months.
Praying you find the cause to ease your worried mind.

Oh Marilyn, I am sorry to hear this! Maybe you could try and prepare dinner earlier in the day when the big kids are home or before she hits her fussy time...I have been blessed with only one child with colic symptoms and I have to say that I didn't get many dinners on the table for a while...It was a bit of a hodge podge of sandwiches, apples, bananas and easy to grab food. No one starved!
I will pray for you and your little one. I am just like you--I can't bear to hear my babies cry.

Samantha (our oldest) was like this as well. It did end up being reflux in her situation but always early evening. It is difficult and you can be assured of my prayers for you and little Anna.

I'm so sorry, Marilyn. I ended up using gripe water with Maria. I will keep you both in my prayers.

Thank you for your prayers. I am trying the gripe water and have also got some dill as recommended by Anne( I will eat it). The good thing is she is gaining weight (at least she feels heavy when I am carrying her at 3am!!) - I just don't want my pediatrician to go through the whole invasive reflux testing at the hospital - I really feel it is not reflux as she does not spit up. I have just prepared dinners in advance to try which will help with dinner hour. I really appreciate your continued prayers. (additional ones for sleep would be so appreciated too)

I used gripe water with Katie and had some success, Marilyn. All of mine experience this to some degree - I kept them close and upright. Some had more trouble at night than others. Daddy's shoulder had amazing therapeutic effects in the wee small hours for those littles that suffered into the night in spite of frequent nursing....just sayin! Things settled naturally around 3 months with all of mine.
Praying of course for wee, precious Anna Grace...hugs for her and you from down south!

I'm glad you were able to get some meals done. I wish I was closer because I would love to bring you some meals or offer my help.
I'll be praying that the Lord will give you sweet sleep.
