I was wondering if you all could spare a prayer for this pregnancy and my peace of mind. I am currently 16 weeks along. I haven't gained any weight so far this time around which is a bit odd for me. I am also nursing my youngest a little still which may answer that, since I have never gone this long nursing while pregnant before. (hurts too much!! ) For some reason, perhaps since I am 39, I have been FILLED with worry and fear about this pregnancy. Is the baby o.k.? Did I remember to take my pre-natals prior to conception reguarly, will my age cause problems etc. etc.? I just have a overall feeling that "something is wrong" when there is no evidence that something is wrong, (Although I have not had a sonogram yet) nd my husband says I always think something is wrong. I have actually started getting depressed from worrying about it so much, and I also have bad dreams this pregnancy. I know I just need to trust God and if something is wrong, there is nothing I can do about it anyway, but I wonder why I am filled with such worry?? Prayers for peace would be appreciated.
Also, prayers for how to tell my side of the family. I always dread telling them since they are not at all positive about it and I get the usual, "don't you know how that happens" speech. (Yes, apparantly I do! ) My 8 year old daughter is incredulous that I have "Not told my own mother yet!!!" Very cute, but I wondered if I am setting a bad example for her in putting off telling my mother and acting as if I have something to hide. Little eyes are always watching, and I hope I am giving a pro-life example!

Keeping you in prayer Kim. Do you have an appt scheduled soon where you can hear the heartbeat? Try to relax and let God lead this pregnancy. It is so hard, trust me, I know. I will lift you in prayer at Mass this morning.

Emily,
Thanks for the prayers, and yes, I have an appt. this Wednesday. That is another thing; the doc always has a hard time finding the heartbeat! I am super excited about having another little one, but it is just the worry that I know is wrong and probably unhealthy for the little one to boot, so I am trying to just be at peace about things since there isn't even anything to worry about! But, every night I wake up worried, or wonder why this one feels so different etc. Anyway, I appreciate the prayers and will try to just trust! It is probably just pregnancy hormones!

Kim, I know your worry well . Something that helped me was to catch myself in my worry and (do my best to) not let myself go there by saying to myself, "At this very moment, all is well...Jesus I trust in You."
Praying for you and your sweet baby!
Love,

Kim - you have my prayers and ! I didn't even know you were pregnant and I'm overjoyed!
Many of us struggle with worry and imagination, especially during a pregnancy! Seems the evil one only needs a tiny opening in our imagination to plant seeds of more doubt, worry, and angst in our hearts. Ask your guardian angel for help throughout the day and night - help to guard your own imagination and thoughts. You will receive powerful help! Work to recognize these thoughts of worry and doubt and immediately dismiss them. Give yourself 2 or 3 other fall-back thoughts to immediately go to...you know sort of like you do when the kids have bad dreams. I always go to them and try to give them good dream thoughts...so ideas of a fun thing they have planned with their dad, or an exciting activity we have planned that's upcoming. So...what exciting/joyful things are going on in your life? Have a handy thought ready. And, finally, surrender these thoughts and this precious child to Our Blessed Mother. She is such a help in time of trial. Ask her to help you surrender to God's will - whatever that may be - with the same joy and courage she offered in her FIAT.
I am praying for you and this precious child...and of course for the smile you'll need to plaster to your face like plastic when you break the news to extended family...
, Kim!

You have my prayers, Kim. Especially during your appt on Wednesday.
With worry during pregnancy, I always felt such an abundance of peace by repeating to myself....
God wouldn't give me more than I can handle.
Here is a cute way to share your joy with your family: Sending news with pictures - it could be the reason you tell your dd that you waited to tell your mom. You wanted to do something different...a surprise.
May the Peace of Christ be with you!

Kim, I am praying for you that you will have a peacefilled and serene pregnancy, that these fears and worries will lift and melt away. Just keep handing this little over to Jesus and Mary, asking for their protection and grace.
I had fears for the first time with my last child, but they were completely unfounded, sometimes it just happens and there is no good reason for it. Be at peace and I'll be praying for the confirmation you are looking for at the sono to come.

Kim, you are doing such a wonderful thing for God. I pray you are surrounded by His peace and kept secure under Our Lady's mantle! I will keep you in my prayers!
I have had 4 HARD pregnancies and I have known the love and support of the many wonderful people on this board....those wonderful prayers pulled me through with such grace! Peter's birth (7 mos ago)was nothing short of miraculous!
I even got blessed by a very nervous Catholic priest named Joseph (all of my sons are named after my dear friend St Joseph) on my way up to labor and delivery
I will put in some great words for you (never mind a good word...we will just kick that up a notch to GREAT...lol) to my dear friend St Gerard. I sent for a (free) 3rd class relic of him from St Lucy's church in Newark while I was pregnant.Shrine of St. Gerard just give them a call!
May God bless you abundantly! Congratulations mamma!!

Kim, I have felt the same way. I found that repeating "Jesus, I trust in you. Please help my lack of trust" to be helpful.
I'm praying for you.
Peace of Christ,
Jody
