Please pray for the Hauser family. Their 13 year old son Daniel has cancer and the family has been fighting to treat him as they see fit. The family doctor took them to court to order chemotherapy. The mother and son have now fled and there is a search and warrant for her arrest.

I grew up in Sleepy Eye and while I don't know them personally the story has been circulated around our homeschool group for about a month. The family homeschooled at one point but after everything going on with this case and the social workers they enrolled their children in a charter school.

News Story

Please pray as you feel led. While I don't think that I would personally go to the lengths that she did, I'm not in her shoes and having the government tell me how and when I were to treat my child is scary I'm sure. Regardless of right or wrong or personal opinions, this family needs our prayers. The family is Roman Catholic but mother and son were adopted into the Nemenhah band which believes in the use of alternative treatments.

This news story hit the Australian headlines a few hours earlier, I'll pray for them.

I can imagine how this family feels. We know of a family that checked their cancer stricken child out of hospital and took the young child overseas for other treatment, it was successful and this child is now a teenager and very healthy. From memory they had to go to court over it all, getting to the treatment of their choice under incredible odds.
