I face difficult issues in caring for my father. Please pray that I can handle the challenges of his dementia cycles in a caring and responsible manner. I have recieved the prayerful support of this board many times and know its power and I hope that my prayers have supported you.
Thanks,
Viv
Update: I knew I was held in prayer throughout the day.
The dentist appointment went well, my father has some new clothes, his anger towards me was under control, although he cannot agree with his placement, he agreed to disagree and he did return to his secure setting.
Thank you for your prayers and for giving me a saint to turn to,
V

Praying for your father and yourself, Viv. May God bless you for your care and love for your father at this time.
Celine Martin comes to mind (St Therese's sister), a saintly person to pray to, as she cared for her father with dementia and probably faced similar challengers.

That is such an excellent idea, Anne! I think many of us are facing this, or just beginning to with our extended families. May Sister Genevieve (Celine Martin), intercede on behalf of all of us trying to care for and preserve the dignity of our loved ones.
Prayer for the beatification of Sister Genevieve of the Holy Face:
Quote:
Oh Eternal Father,
Creator of Heaven and Earth and Giver of Life
Graciously hear my humble prayer
Thank you for the grace you gave your daughter Sister Genevieve
of the Holy Face. Deign to grant me, according to your will, the
grace of intercession through Sister Genevieve of the Holy Face:
(make your request)
I pray that she may soon be numbered among your saints so that
she may be glorified by your Church here on earth
I humbly pray faithfully in your Name
Amen
Our Father/Hail Mary/Glory be to the Father |

What a gift our saints are...there's always someone who's walked the path before us, who knows just how we feel and knows how to intercede for our needs.
Our lives are so much richer because of the Communion of Saints!
Viv, I'm so happy you felt the power of prayer on a tough day. Please keep bringing your intentions here...it's a privilege to pray for you and your father.
