He is STILL sick after 2 weeks. Now it is a cold virus that seems to have taken over from the fever and stomach. He refuses to eat anything and is so thin. I am so worried about leaving him if I go into labor. Please also pray that I won't get any of these strange spring viruses and the rest of the family will be healthy - I am having more and more contractions, and I don't think labor is too far off and I would so love to bring a baby home healthy and to a healthy house.

Praying for your family and especially for your son. This year has been such an awful one for viruses/flus in VA! We were sick many times with the stomach flu, which is unusual for us. I will especially ask our Lady to intercede for you for a healthy delivery and a healthy family to greet your new one.

Praying! I can well identify. If it's any consolation, everyone in our house (including me) got sick with a really bad cold right after I came home with #6. I was terrified that he would get it, too, but apparently the antibodies in my breast milk worked well. I was sick for a month, but he never came down with anything.
But I hope you all get and stay well!!

Did the smoothies work? Try the popscicles if you can....Poor buddy, we'll be praying very hard for our little friend. Does he like to snack on crackers and chips, things that normally aren't food groups until they have been sick and puny on the weight?  The other thing at that age, they like to "dip" things....like dipping stuff in ketchup, salsa, jelly....or something more substantial like hummas. He could consume quite a few calories if he dipped chips, or pretzel sticks in hummus. (and the garlic is great for the virus!)

Thank you all so much. I think Michael is starting to improve. He did drink a smoothie yesterday, slept ALL NIGHT and this morning has eater toast, strawberries and blackberries. He still has a horrible sounding cough but looks more like himself. My dd is looking a little under the weather - but allergy levels are also very high, so I am hoping it is just allergies.
