We need some prayers for our beautiful 19 year old daughter, for my husband and me.
1. She is just finishing her first year in college, which she paid for with her own money with the money she saved from her previous job and a grant from the state. We pay for her car insurance, phone and gas. We need to come up with money for the Summer and Fall semester, but so far we haven't had any luck with getting a student loan. (We live paycheck to paycheck and have been struggling for a long time)
Please pray for some financial miracle for her.
2. She has been looking for a job for quite a while, but hasn't had any luck. She only works Fridays and Saturdays at her current job with no chance of getting more hours. Working on Sundays is not an option and most places expect her to work on Sundays.
Please ask St. Joseph to help her find a job soon.
3. We need prayers to discern a curfew for her as a college student living at home. Her curfew for weeknights is 11 and midnight on the weekends. Her friends (2 from church and 3 from college) go bowling every wednesday from 10 pm- 1am and we have let go twice, but we are not comfortable with it, so we told her to keep her curfew until we can figure out what to do. She is a wonderful young lady and doesn't get into trouble. We trust her, but the thought of our 19 year old driving home alone at 1 0'clock in the morning is very scary for us.
Please pray that we can come up with some rules/ curfew for her so we can all be happy. Please feel free to pm me any advice you might have concerning rules, curfew for adult chidren living at home.
4. A special intention for St. Joseph.
Thank you so much in advance. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Praying for you always
curfews are hard esp when other friends are still allowed to stay out. I will continue to pray for your family. Encourage her to keep applying for scholarships, even the small ones add up.

Have you talked to her about your concerns with the late night? maybe there's something that can be worked out? Like maybe another friend could travel at least part way with her so that she's not alone.. or maybe someone would even come and pick her up and take her home so again she's not driving alone. I don't know.. but maybe there is a way to address the actual issues without just nixing the get together. Maybe they'd even be willing to shift it to 9-12 instead of 10-1.
Also be sure she's looking realistically at her schedule.. what time is she up that morning so how tired will she be by 1am that night.. and how early does she need to be up the next day?

Asking St. Joseph to guide you and your husband so that you can offer healthy boundaries for your dd - ones that offer her the measure of respect an adult child should have while respecting that she is still living at home.
Know that I pray for all your intentions, Ruth!

I'm praying for all your intentions, Ruth.
I second what Jodie said. Maybe there is another way to work this out without her missing the fun. My daughter stayed over night at her friend's house on a few occassions when she was going to be out late. She drove home early in the morning instead of late at night. Perhaps that is an option.
Another idea we have used when one of our adult children was coming home later than the normal curfew is to have her call us when she is leaving. This gives us a very good idea when to expect her to walk in the door. Also if she has a cell phone with her she can contact you in any event.
Peace,
Jody

Praying, Ruth. Our older children are learning a lot about the truth of life during hard times for sure. Praying for fortitude, hope, and acceptance of God's will.
Love,

Praying for your daughter and your family, Ruth...that St. Joseph will answer the financial prayers and that the Holy Spirit will guide you all and her in decision making for her social engagements. I wish I had advice but our oldest is 17...

Ruth -
These *transitional ages* are really tough ones; how much to hold on, the interests of the younger children at home, how to let go gracefully... You and your family are in my prayers.
Peace,
Nancy
