Dear Friends,

Please say some prayers for my mom. She is in the emergency room waiting for the doctor to make a decision about a possible surgical procedure that she might need to repair a problem with her bowel. It might be possible to correct the problem non-invasively, which of course we would prefer.

UPDATE:

Dear Friends,

Thanks so much for your prayers. My mom was brought in for surgery not long after I posted the prayer request. Happily, it seems as though everything went very well. She is now resting fairly comfortably and will be in the hospital for the next day or two, until she starts eating again and passing things more normally.

Alas, my mom is back in WI, so there is no chance of me going back and seeing her while she is in the hospital. However, all 9 of my siblings are in the area, so at this point, she is not lacking for visitors.

Please pray that her recovery goes smoothly and that she doesn't have a lot of pain.

You and your intentions are in my prayers, as well.
