I'd really appreciate your prayers - not only for him and his healing but also that I would not walk in fear this week. I vacillate between fear of losing him during surgery and faith that God is with us in this, regardless of the outcome. I'll be posting updates to our family blog - link below. Thank you dear ladies for holding us up.
PS - If any of you have encountered difficult circumstances such as these and have prayers/readings/practices/etc. that were especially helpful to you, I'd love for you to share those with me, either here or on our blog. I'm trying to keep my mind filled with truth so as not to give the enemy a foothold.

Dear Martha - we will have a candle lit on Thursday - and say an hourly memorare for you. How about praying the rosary and memorares - and having lots of inspirational music on to keep your thoughts on God? Also reading the Psalms. I have a stack of bible verses that I used to calm myself down - I will type out for you later - I am on my way to a drs appt.

Dear Martha;
I read your prayer request and my heart lurched for you in a way that I am all too familiar with. I live in constant fear and keep fighting it with multiple Memorares all day long. I find that prayer the most helpful for me to keep me calm on any given moment. I also love St. Micheal's prayer because fear doesn't come from God but ohhhhh how it makes us so weak at the knee. Sending you many warm hugs and praying for a hedge of protection over you and all your loved ones this day to allow a peace that surpasses all understanding to wash over you all. I will also pray for his surgeon, an expert in the field of surgery necessary, that his hand will be angel guided as your hubby is in his care. God Bless you Martha. Praying for you and hope you keep us posted.

Martha - I am praying heartily for you both right now. My husband had some complications after a surgery that were life threatening about 7 years ago. It was the most frightening experience of my life. The only prayers I could get out were the short ones...

"Jesus, I trust in you...at least I'm trying to trust, help me to trust you more."
Ask your guardian angel to help you guard against fruitless imaginings and banish them at their first thought.

Praying, Martha - if it helps, a relative of mine had surgery on her neck on Jan 27 - it was actually on the spine at her neck...
It was something I found frightening, too, but I just kept praying the Chaplet of Divine Mercy and asking the Blessed Mother to wrap us in her Mantle....
We will definitely keep you all in our prayers....
P.S. Everything is fine with my relative now!
