I'm feeling so lonely lately.  I don't have any friends right now just some acquaintances from various things. All I ask is for some prayers that God will send a friend my way. My dh is headed to a military school in January for 9 weeks and I'm afraid of feeling even more lonely. Being alone is not a problem for me, but I've just felt so lonely. I do need to increase my prayer time, but sometimes it's so hard to get the quiet time I need.

I'm so glad you posted this request, KC. I also hope that this board can offer connections to kindred spirits while you develop local friends. It really can be hard to develop good friendships, especially when we have full lives.
I need to leave the computer for now but you may want to use the search option here using "lonely" and see if you find anything helpful in a practical sense. Many folks have shared how they have handled being in a situation similar to yours. I just posted about my Prayer Partner which may be something to pray about .
Our family is praying for you and for quality friendships real soon.

I'm sorry you feel this way, but you are not alone. Homeschooling is lonely sometimes. . . and well, so is life. I'll pray for you. I've felt this way too. This forum helps fight loneliness.

When I first had my conversion about 12 years ago I prayed very hard for friends and I ended up in a wonderful mothers' prayer group as an answer to my prayers. I made a couple of very good friends there as well as many wonderful aquaintances to pray with. I know your prayers will be answered by the best friend of all....the Blessed Virgin Mary!

HI Katie,
Where in TX are you? I'm in San Antonio and share your feelings of loneliness...I've been without dh for over three months now and am in a new city and know no one...I'll go days without having a real conversation with another adult. You will be in my prayers...all of us here in this house are praying for friends!

Hang in there. Nine years ago my closest friend and fellow homeschool mom moved to Steubenville. I was devastated. We had done everything together...even started homeschooling at the same time. All our kids were the same ages and they, too, were very close. After they moved I prayed for a friend...I was so down. Several months later God answered my prayers and sent another homeschool mom my way . We've been the best of friends from the beginning. God is good....he'll answer your prayers !!!
