Good Morning!
Mary Beth is dancing Clara in The Nutcracker at 11:00 this morning. I was up all night with Stephen who has a stomach bug. Couple of requests: Stephen tends toward hyperemesis; please pray we don't need an IV. I'm planning to leave him home with Christian just for the duration of the show. Please pray for both of them. Pray Mary Beth stays healthy through the day. She's worked so hard for this one day--I'm begging the Blessed Mother on her behalf.
And Michael will miss the whole thing because he's taking the SAT this morning. Please pray it's time well spent.
Thanks for your prayers. I'll check in this afternoon.

Wow, Elizabeth, I would give anything to see Mary Beth in her performance. She must be quite a ballerina to be cast in that role. Please be sure to share pictures when you have a moment.
I will be sure to pray for all of you.

As I type this, I'm picturing the performance that is taking place right now with Mary Beth. How lovely!
Praying for your whole family, Elizabeth.

She was beautiful But I might be a little biased. Cindy was there; perhaps she can offer an unbiased review. And pictures will follow soon, to be sure.
Nicholas joined Stephen first thing this morning and I left them both home with Christian. He let them watch a poor choice in movies and made them brand new wooden swords to re-enact it . Nicky is up and about and Stephen is still down and out .
And Chari, I also was thinking about that December thing. Remember five years ago around this time when they started and kept chugging along until the night beofre Nicholas was born three weeks later? Actually, Stephen wasn't quite finished and he got sick all over the hospital room.
Two years later, it wasn't the stomcah thing but RSV in December complete with a newborn and a very sick two-year-old.
And then two years after that was the horrible flu and Stephen was so very sick...
This round pales in comparison but I sure do hope we've done our time for the year.
Pics to follow as soon as my dad gets them to me...

Elizabeth may be biased, but on this one she is absolutely right on! Mary Beth was stunningly beautiful, and danced wonderfully. My husband and I were there with our 2 year old and 1 year old boys, and they were even enchanted with the dancing. It was such a nice experience, and I was so honored to be able to see Mary Beth dance today. I saved my program and tickets so that I can get them autographed by the star of the show!

A proud moment!!!
Elizabeth,
Was there a point in the performance that you looked at the seats next to you and realized you only had two of the other dc sitting next to you (assuming Patrick and Katie were with you), and thought to yourself, "How on earth did we get down to only two!!!"
This happens to me so often nowadays. As of March I'll have 3 teenagers. We still do lots as a family but, every now and again, we end up with just the younger two. And I have to ask myself "How did this happen?"
There's a void there when the whole family isn't together enjoying one another's magical moments. And I feel like I should still be counting heads.

Well, Cindy was on my left with her Sean in her lap. And Katie was in my lap. Mike got roped into videotaping for the studio, so he and Paddy were in the very back up top. It was really Mike I missed most (no offense, Cindy--you were a very close second )

Elizabeth -- please post the pics soon, I'd love to see them. What a joy to see your daughter dance Clara! I remember last year when we were watching a video of the Royal Ballet from Covent Garden -- we told Thomas and Maggie how their Aunt Steph used to dance Clara. Thomas got it stuck in his head that we were watching Aunt Steph -- we can't watch it still without him saying to the younger two "that's Aunt Steph y'know -- when she was younger". My dsil thinks is so proud!

Oh, yes, we are basking in Nutcracker magic at our house also. My Katie danced the roles of angel and bonbon. I am still LOL picturing the pompoms on her bonbon hat bobbing up and down furiously as she danced. Plus, I got roped into being under Mother Ginger's big skirt helping to push it on and off stage. The entire experience was such fun.
Elizabeth, how old is Mary Beth? Any little ballerina dreams of being cast as Clara. Send her our congratulations. Can't wait to see her photos.
I, too, will try to post pictures of my Nutcracker ballerina when I figure out our new digital camera.
Hope the whole Foss Family feels better soon.

She spiked a fever yesterday afternoon after the last show. And then Patrick and Christian were up sick all last night...But at least she danced. Thanks so, so much for your prayers!
