Please pray for the repose of the soul of our dear pastor, Father Michael C. Kelly, who died today when, while stopped to move a fallen tree out of the road, another tree fell and struck him. He died on the scene. He was a holy man who brought so many of us closer to God. He will be sorely missed.

My prayers are with Fr Kelly and your parish and our Bishop. This diocese (Arlington) actually lost another pastor (Fr. Griffen from Orange) on Christmas day. The pastor at our church looked so sad tonight... I am praying for all tonight.

Yep, that's what Fr. Z. said when he came for dinner ... to lose two pastors so close together is really hurting all the priests ... add to that a horrible murder of a couple of parishioners at Fr. Z's parish ... this has been one heckuva Christmas break ...
Prayers and hugs and more prayers for all involved ...
All I can hold to at times like this ... God is in control!

Mary, WTOP is saying that a memorial Mass for Fr. Kelly is scheduled for Jan. 2 at 7:30 p.m.

The arrangements are as follows:
Viewing: Monday, January 5, 6pm-8pm, in the church
Funeral Mass: Tuesday, January 6, 11am
Main Celebrant: Bishop Loverde
Eternal rest grant unto him oh Lord,
and may the perpetual light shine upon him.
May his soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed,
rest in peace! Amen.
