Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Could I please ask your prayers as I work on a "curriculum vitae" for a really interesting job opportunity. I have been a stay-at-home mom for the past 17 years, (basically all of my post-college life!)and given the fact that I got married right after college, didn't spend very much time building a "resume"!

This job is right up my alley, however. It would give me an opportunity to use my degree in French, do some writing, and stay at home...how beatiful is that. Frankly, the subject matter is of such interest to me, that I would probably enjoy doing it even if they didnt' pay me!! In all of these years, this is the first lead that I have seriously been interested in pursuing.

However, I am finding it quite a challenge trying to encapsulate the life experiences of a home-schooling mom into a one page "here is my life in a nutshell" kind of format. Also, I have never had to "sell" my strong points via a sheet of paper.

If any of you lovely ladies have dabbled your feet into the working world, after 17 years at home, I would love to hear from you about how you got your foot in the door.

So, my specific intentions would be: 1.) Inspiration from the Holy Spirit in writing my curriculum vitae and cover letter, 2.) Prayers, through the intercession of St. Joseph and St. Therese that God would grant me this opportunity to use my talents for the building up of the church.

Thank you so much!

Praying here. I did the opposite - worked and then stayed home. So, not much advice for you.

How exciting! I'm praying for your intentions, Lara. You also might consider asking over at Mother Nurture for specific ideas on how to complete your CV. Please keep us posted.

Love,

Lara--No great advice except that if a CV was specifically requested you needn't keep the length to one page. I have often heard that resumes are best kept as brief as possible but most places looking for a CV want a complete accounting of what you've accomplished.

Susan,

They didn't specifically request a CV...they just said they would waive the formal resume for me. I think I can keep the CV to one page...it's that cover letter...I have never been know for my brevity!

Peace.

Thanks everyone for all of your prayers. I will be finalizing my CV and cover letter this afternoon, so if you could keep me and my intentions in prayer at that time, I would be very grateful.

Peace to your day!

Thanks so much for your prayers, everyone. I have sent in my cover letter and curriculum vitae. Please pray that I have the grace to accept God's will in this matter.

Peace.
