Please pray for my daughter Fiona, age 11, who had double knee surgery today to correct knock knees. Recovery is a little more involved than I expected. My husband was home today but will be at work tomorrow. We ended up having her sleep in the living room on the recliner couch because we realized I wouldn't be able to get her down the stairs myself and she didn't want to spend the whole day isolated in her bedroom. Thank God we were unexpectedly gifted with a new (to us) set of living room furniture that reclines over the weekend or we would really have been stuck. This was one of those things where someone randomly asked us if we wanted their old furniture...I hadn't put it out there that we needed it.
Anyway, she did really well all day dealing with the pain and only complained a little. She finally cried when I was trying to get her to make a decision about whether to stay upstairs or down. A real trooper!
I am sleeping downstairs with her in the living room--on the other new recliner!--since she needs help getting up, walking, going to the bathroom etc.
So specificaly, pray please for her recovery, her ability to be able to walk up and down stairs and her patience with having the dressings and bandages on her legs for many days.
Thank you in advance.

Isn't it wonderful how God takes care of us through the generosity of others before we even knew we needed to ask for something? Your story is such a beautiful illustration of Our Lord's generosity and tenderness towards your daughter. I'm so glad you shared it, LeeAnn.
I'll be praying for your daughter's recovery, that it will be comfortable, speedy, and uncomplicated.

Thank you for your prayers--I am sure they helped.
She has made very good progress today after a rough night. She seems to be most achey at night and cried for quite a while wanting the pain to just stop. However, morning brought a different disposition and she's been happy and mostly pain-free all day, hardly requesting any pain med. I'm loading her up before bed though to try and avoid last night's scenario.
The next things she needs to accomplish: rising from a seated position on her own (she can sit down by herself now with effort) and bending her knees enough to make it up stairs. This will be her third night sleeping in the living room--my husband is beginning to miss me!--but I know it's only for a short time.
Happy Thanksgiving to you all--we have much to thank God for this week.
