Please pray for my sister, her husband, and their brand new baby. They are all healthy but they seem terrified that they will never sleep again!(I remember the days :-)
I just left there and it was very hard. Since Noah (who turned one week old today) doesn't like to sleep in his bassinet - he likes to be held like most newborns I know - his dad wants to sleep train him already!
Anyway, I'll spare you the details. The basics are: that they do not live near any family. They are not on the same page regarding their baby. My sister just had a C-section and her first child (at age 40.) She is someone who does not do well on limited sleep.
I know this is a "small" prayer request, but please join me anyway.
Thanks,
Jen (who is missing her nephew and worried 5 hours away)
UPDATE: Thank you so much for your prayers and kind words. Now their doctor wants to have them give Noah a bottle after every feeding. He hasn't yet gained weight and the doctor wants to see that he can. I have a feeling that Noah might not be getting a lot of hind milk and am hoping that the lactation consultant will make a visit soon to help out.(Their county in North Carolina has a free lactation consultant ) Please keep praying. Thank you.

I will offer memorares for your sister, dh and baby Noah, it is very exciting for them but I still have vivid memories of feeding my first baby through the night after being a 10hours-a-night-sleep-like-a-log type girl.

Praying, with empathy. My ds was born via emergency-C (8 doctors!) and I was a zillion miles from anyone who thought nursing him was an okay thing. Coping with such huge changes, emotions and amounts of conflicting advice is very hard. I will be praying!
We had lots of struggles with child #1; it is hard for new parents to give up their "me" time and sleep and all that - especially when the media tells them they don't need to. I watched my own husband completely about-face with baby #2. (Did I mention that I would be praying?!)
PS - I love your nephew's name! I can only imagine that this child is destined for great things. Noah is dignified and Biblical and historic...wow.

Praying! How about sending the book The No-Cry Sleep Solution for Babies as a little gift? Maybe that can help get them on the same page and help them all get some rest without letting the little one suffer.
