I humbly beg for your prayers.

Today we had a no good very very bad horrible school day. Again. I'm having some minor health issues (nothing major, but interfering with sleep = cranky mama).

My oldest is special needs - mood disorder NOS/bipolar. He has been becoming worse and worse over the last two weeks, and today was just horrible. He is 10 and was in public school special ed. for two years previously; he is at a 3rd grade level. His attitude towards school is bad, but recently he has balked at doing anything "Christian".

He is suddenly refusing to do his "stupid Christian" spelling (we use CHC); write his handwriting verses; participate in liturgical activities and crafts. He begs me to give him secular materials.

Please pray for patience for me and a change of heart towards God for him.

I was in your shoes a couple of years ago, although my ds had never been to school. He would cover his ears whenever we prayed, roll his eyes at Church, etc. In addition to this, we had huge behavioral problems. I'm happy to report that he is MUCH better now, on all fronts. So there is hope. It's just so hard to hold onto in the face of everything, I know.

You and your son (and the rest of the family) will be in my prayers. When my son was having his idfficulties, I often asked St. Monica to intercede. (I figured that her persistence in praying for HER wayward son was what I needed!!!) I'll ask St. Monica to offer her intercession for you and your son, too.
