Prayers would be great. I need to know what to do for my hand, burned it bad, very bad tonight, bacon grease, 400 degree poured over my hand. Tried rosemary in water, vinegar, now arnica which feels better, but it has been at least 4 hours and still burns, awful, suggestions?
Update:10.24
Thank you all so very much for all your prayers. They worked. I was able to get sleep, am almost free of pain today and got a ton of gauze to put on my hand. The worst blister is quarter size, one other a dime then just some smaller blisters. I am confident in time it will heal. About twenty or so minutes after I posted last night the pain went nearly away, you all are some awesome prayer warriors, thank you very, very much.

water.. body temp should feel cool to hand but won't make it cold.. uysually it's not cooled this way long enough
may need medical attention.. burns to the hand can be more critical with a smaller area than on larger body parts.. if in doubt this is one to get checked out.
silvedine cream would help or colloidal silver might work
aloe is also good

aloe. We keep a bottle of pure aloe gel in the fridge. It has been one of the only things that I have found that really help a burn.
oh, prayers, burns are so painful!

Praying ... I think that I would have it checked. Burns to your hand especially with something as hot as bacon grease ... if nothing else it will give you peace of mind.

Dear Susan - I got a very very bad burn 2 years ago - boiling tea all down my hip and thigh. The pain was incredible - and I made it worse by using a greasy ointment thing. I should just have done cold water until the heat left. I would see the doctor if possible - in the beginning you need to use the prescription silvadene cream and keep it covered. Aloe and Vitamin E will be good once healing has started. Many many prayers coming you way.

Susan-
Go in!
My daughter was just burned with water and I doubted if I should go in. It ended up being 2nd degree. The sooner you go in, the better. Also take pain med. Tylenol and motrin but the dr. may give you something stronger. Drink plenty of fluids because dehydration can easily happen w/ burns.
Grease is so much worse than water...so sorry.
Heidi

I'm so sorry you got burned! I'm praying for pain relief and complete healing.
I burned my hand under extremely hot tap water and just wrapped it up thinking it would be ok. I wish back then that I had received medical attention, if nothing else, for the pain meds.
Per my recent First Aid Certification class:
DO NOT:
*put anything except water on a burn until the heat is out.
*put any fats, ointments, or lotions on burns.
*break blisters caused by burn.
*use bandages that could potentially stick to the injury (ex: cotton)
Seek medical attention if burn covers hands.
Love,
