My friend (and 6-yo's godmother), who's been married 8 years or so, has had several miscarriages and an ectopic pregnancy. They've gone to numerous doctors and tried different things. She's pregnant again, right now at 5 weeks. She's obviously scared and nervous and could use lots of prayers. Fortunately she and hubby are devout Catholics so they've been able to handle the previous losses quite well. It would be such a blessing for them to finally have a little one. My heart aches knowing how much they've wanted this for a long long time. Please pray that her pregnancy goes well this time around.
Thanks.

I know this heartache too well. I will pray particularly to St. Gerard.

I understand and know that fear...we will pray that Mary will keep her close in her mantle.

Oh, I just had a little thought. Our Lady of Guadalupe is an image of an expectant mother. Her words to Juan Diego on December 12, 1531 are so moving:
"Hear, my son, that which I tell you now:
Let nothing disturb or grieve you, nor fear any illness, nor other painful accident or pain. Am I not here who am your Mother? Are you not under my shadow and protection? Am I not life and health? Are you not on my lap and in my care? Do you have need of anything else?"
From the holycard with this quote, it ends: "With these words Mary of Guadalupe asks us what every mother demands from her child, that which one who loves expects from their beloved Confidence!
Also, some thoughts about confidence and trust and hope were also posted in this thread.

Stef,
Praying here; I have a close friend who's been down almost the exact same path...I know how much your friend is hoping that things will go well this time.
Hugs,
