10/11 Update

Thank you for your prayers! FIL came through surgery just fine, and was already feeling less pain (not sure if it was the surgery or the really good drugs ). He was able to be released the same day and is at home recovering.

He's not one to sit idle, so the restrictions on movement and activity are difficult for him. Prayers that he might follow them and not push it would be appreciated!

Please pray for my father-in-law as he faces surgery to repair a ruptured disc (third cervical vertebrae) in his back tomorrow afternoon, 1:30 central time. It is an outpatient procedure and he should get to go home the same day--though my in-laws have received conflicting information on that front.

He has been in great pain for some time, and we are hoping this works as the physical therapy did not and he has been dealing with life through narcotics (prescribed, of course!).

Please pray that the procedure goes well, that he is able to go home tomorrow, and that he can heal with no further nerve damage.
