Carolyn had an MRI on Friday. The results show that the cancer is very significant in her brain and spine. She is losing her ability to walk and use of her arms. She is very confused and has lost soo much weight.
Please keep her in your prayers. It's so hard to see her suffer this way. And also, please pray for the conversion of her son and daughter. Carolyn's only concern is for them as they have both left the Church.
Thank you so much for your prayers.

How awful. St. Peregrine, patron saint of cancer patients, intercede for Carolyn.
St. Monica intercede for the conversion of Carolyn's children.
We pray to the Lord!

The past two weeks have really been hard on Carolyn. A hospital bed was brought in last week because she was no longer able to walk as her coordination was so bad. As of yesterday, she is totally bedridden and is no longer able to communicate. She hasn't had more than several spoonfuls of cream of wheat for 3 days now. Several of us have been going to her home each afternoon to pray as she lays in the other room. The hospice nurse does not want anyone in the same room with Carolyn because the cancer in her brain has severely affected the nerves in her head. She has become very sensitive to any noise or any light. It's so hard not to be able to kiss her when we are there. Her doctor was with her Wednesday evening and said she probably has fewer than 7 days to live. Please continue to pray for her.
Lord,
in weakness or in strength
we bear your image.
We pray for those we love
who now live in a land of shadows,
where the light of memory is dimmed,
where the familiar lies unknown,
where the beloved become as strangers.
Hold them in your everlasting arms,
and grant to those who care
a strength to serve,
a patience to persevere,
a love to last
and a peace that passes human understanding.
Hold us in your everlasting arms,
today and for all eternity;
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Carolyn's son and daughter were with us on Thursday as we prayed the Rosary and Divine Mercy Chaplet. Carolyn would have been beaming with joy !!!

Oh, I am so saddened that I have missed this thread and the other about Carolyn until now! I miss so much when I'm away from the board.
I am praying for Carolyn and her children, and for all of you who are with her. What a beautiful thing it must be in the Eyes of the Lord to have you all together praying for Carolyn and for each other!

Carolyn passed away this morning surrounded by her family. Her son, who lives in California, was able to get back home to Pennsylvania just hours before she died.
Carolyn lived such a beautiful life, and died a beautiful death. For days, we've gathered at her home to pray. They were powerful prayers. On Sunday evening the room filled with the smell of roses as we prayed.
Two and a half weeks ago I spent the day with Carolyn while she was still able to communicate. We prayed the prayers from the booklet written by Sister Anne Sophie Meaney titled, A Spiritual Guide for Being Born into Eternal Life, which Kristen recommended. It is a beautiful book. At the end of one of the prayers we dedicated the last two hours of Carolyn's life to the Blessed Mother. Carolyn was so happy to be able to do that, as she was especially close to Our Lady.
Thank you, all, for your prayers and please continue to pray for Carolyn's eternal soul.
Saints of God, come to her aid!
Come to meet her, angels of the Lord!
Receive her soul and present her to God the Most High.
May Christ, who called Carolyn, take her to himself;
may angels lead her to Abraham's side.
Give her eternal rest, O Lord,
and may your light shine on her for ever.
All-powerful and merciful God,
we commend to you, Carolyn, your servant.
In your mercy and love,
blot out all the sins she has committed through human weakness.
In this world she has died: let her live with you for ever.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord.
And let perpetual light shine upon her.
May she rest in peace.
May her soul and the souls of all the faithful departed,
through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
Amen.
“Mary, Gate of Heaven, help us never to lose sight of our heavenly homeland, ultimate goal of our pilgrimage here on earth.” Pope John Paul II

Donna,
I'll remember Carolyn's soul and the sorrow of her family in my prayers. You are in my prayers, too. I know you have said a temporary good-bye to a wonderful friend. It sounds as though you were a real blessing to her in her final weeks of life.
Thanks for sharing your journey with us. I hope that I'll have your courage and strength when I have to say farewell to a friend.
It's so wonderful to know we'll all meet in Heaven, with God's help. I'll look forward to meeting Carolyn, definitely!
Hugs,
