Hi all,
About an hour ago I tripped while walking and the plate I was carrying flew up and hit me in the mouth, badly chipping my front tooth.
DH called our dentist and he is able to see me today at 4:30. I am not sure what to expect. My dad thinks they will crown it. I have never even had a cavity before so I am a bit nervous about the procedure(s).
Also, we don't have any dental insurance so I am sure we will take a hit financially. We have been saving all our extra money for our adoption so please pray that our dentist is understanding and will work with us on a payment plan.
We appreciate your prayers.

UPDATE: I went to the dentist this afternoon and he was able to bond the tooth. It was relatively painless as I did not have any nerve damage. It only cost $150 which is definitely not as much as I was expecting. I was afraid it was going to be like $1000!

Oh my! I know how this is. It will depend on the severity of the chip and the dentist. I have a chipped front tooth and they just put filler on it. It isn't very expensive but about once every 5 years or so, it comes off (last time was with banana laffy taffy...what was I thinking?). You may ask the dentist if the chip is big enough (or small enough, I'm not sure of the criteria) to just use the filler. It would be cheaper than bonding, I'm sure.
