Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I ask your prayers for my 7:30am surgery tomorrow. The kidney stone has not moved, and the doctor's bet is if it hasn't moved by now...

My parents are coming to help with the children, thank God. The kids are 'off' due to Mom being out of sorts, of course. Schoolwork has gone way down on the priority list. I'm distracted and my daughter is lonesome. Sigh...

I'm going to be annointed today at 11am. I'm fearful. Preadmission testing made it clear to me this is a bigger deal surgery than I originally thought (requires general anaethesia and a breathing tube while I'm out). The surgery also includes the placement of a stent; the stent will need to be removed at some later date (an outpatient procedure, thank God, I think? )

Please pray! Thank you all!

10/2/08 update - the prayers of St. Therese, the wonderful ladies of 4Real and my precious friends held me up all day yesterday. The surgery took 1/2 the expected time, I didn't need a stent, and I don't have to go back to the urologist for 2-3 weeks! My throat is a bit sore today and I have some odd aching in my chest, but no other pain. I offer these up for all intentions of the board, spoken and unspoken. Thank you so much!

Well, surgery on the Feast of the Little Flower seems like as good a day as any. Praying for the intercession of St. Therese to shower you with peace as you enter your surgery. I went to confession and was annointed before a surgery two years ago. I was cleansed and strengthened spritually by the sacrament and the sacramental.
Prayers going up for you right now!

I was going to type something similar as Chris...praying to St. Therese for your surgery, Patty.

When I went through this a year and a half ago, the surgery wasn't so bad (did have general anesthesia, no breathing tube though). I also had a stint that had to be removed. The stint removal was no big deal at all! It was removed by the doctor in his office - no pain meds offered because it wasn't painful, really. Odd, but not painful. Fortunately, for me, I didn't really have time to think about the surgery - went to ER one night, had surgery in the morning first thing. Anyway, I'm praying for you. If you need any more support from someone who has BTDT, I'm always here

God bless,
Christine
