An internet friend of mine is going through a horrible situation. Last week, two of her daughters were riding their bikes when her 12 year old, Rachael, was hit by a car. She has shaken-baby syndrome, basically, and they are not expecting her to live. Many are praying for a miracle as they take her off of her coma-inducing medications to see if she will wake up. Her brain pressures are so high that they do not expect her to. :-(
We are storming Heaven with prayers that Rachael will recover from this! Her mom is Corrine and her dad is Pete. I met Corrine on the MOMYS site, for those who frequent it. Her caringbridge site address is here. Please pray for her, and for her sister Amanda, who was with her at the time of the accident, too. I am not sure how old Amanda is. I do know that Corrine has 11 or 12 children, and the oldest are married with children, so this is also very challenging as far as keeping a large household going while in crisis.

Yes, Lisa, it is. She was so comforting to me last month, when I had a m/c. I can't imagine what they are going through!

On another board I belong to a womans daughter just found out that her dd's best online friend died in a bike accient (being hit by a car).
This family lived in Utah and I am wondering if it is the same family?

I found the website that these kids are referring too.

but the dates dont match. They are saying that this Rachel (who was riding with her sister) died on the 26th when the family posted an update this morning about her.
Could someone clarify with more detail? The member at the other message board whose daughter is online friends which Rachel is extremely confused by all this turn of events.

**UPDATE**
This is indeed the same Rachel, but it seems that somewhere along the lines someone at the other forum got misinformation and it snowballed from there. Thankfully a new post has been made and the kids there who have been praying for Rachel can now continue to do so.

Yes, Theresa, it was misinformation!
I think this is what happened: One update said that she was unlikely to make it through the night. So, it looked like she had died. Her parents were prepared to say goodbye, and the doctors tested her brain. Well, it was still alive! She is doing better now, a little. There is still hope!
I prayed for her during my son's confirmation Mass today. I hope she makes it!
