I'm slowly but I hope surely getting over the worst of the hg sickies. I posted an update on my blog.
Now I'd really like prayers about a provider for this baby's delivery.
My wonderful catholic ob/gyn dropped me this morning.
She can no longer take me as a VBAC unless I'm willing to consent to having a repeat c-section. A c-section that she admits is not medically neccessary, but the hospital and her insurance will not permit a VBAC.
So, I'm on the hunt for a new ob or a midwife.
And it's a mighty scarce hunt because almost all of them are in the same boat as her. So far I've only been able to find 3 drs and 2 midwives. 2 of the 3 drs can't take me because they say they are over booked in ob patients as it is. 1 of the midwives is over 2 hours away and won't take me without a dr backup.
I haven't even been able to get through the phone line of the others so far.
I'm so upset over this.

welcome to my world
I had a C last pregnancy. (which may or may not have been necessary) I am going for a VBAC but have to drive 1hr and 15 minutes into PA to have this baby at a city hospital.
The midwives I had were trained by my new midwives so I know it is a good practice that treats me like the baby belongs to me...that is a good thing. You even weigh and stick test for sugar all on your own...that is a nice touch too.
Our local hospital (4 minutes away!) says it is a money issue because they have to pay for a anesthesiologist full time...to which my midwife responds...what if you need one for a regular birth...so there are a lot of holes in their statement. The local dr's aren't really fighting it...they do get paid more for a c section but I don't know if that is the reason. this is the same situation I encountered with the other 2 hospitals that are within 35 minutes of me. I just have to keep driving farther for care.
With the price of gas, driving my 15 passenger van and enduring the long car ride is rough. As I get bigger I can barely tolerate 20 minutes driving. It really wears me out. I am frustrated because I have to be inconvenienced so much and seperated from my children so often for appointments. It is a real headache for me. But I do it because I don't want unnecessary surgery!
I will keep you in my prayers and I hope you find what you need!

I'm so sorry your OB dropped you, how horrible! My first two children were c/s, and I had a great VBA2C with my last daughter. My OB really pressured me, especially at the end, but I respectfully stood my ground (it was really hard sometimes, though! But I knew it was best for me and for the baby). Good luck finding a supportive OB or MW, I'll keep you in my prayers.

Prayers said!!
Also, you may try checking mothering.com's forums- they have a provider recommendation forum or used to. That is how I was able to find my midwife in Indiana.
