I tried calling my husband this morning and he couldn't talk because the hospital he works at received a threat of a shooting and the department he works in is responsible for the security doors. Please pray for his and everyone's safety and also that this is resolved quickly so he doesn't have to work late (it's our anniversary and I'm selfish...)
Thank you all for your prayers! The situation had to do with a "gang shooting" that was unsuccessful. Apparently this is not uncommon in the ER, which can be locked down easily, but during recent construction, the ICU was not similarly equipped...so they had to install appropriate locks in the ICU to protect the victims under threat of the gang members trying to get in to "finish the job"... Nevertheless, it was all done in time for my dh to come home in time to celebrate our anniversary. Thanks for your well wishes (and understanding)!
