Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I was JUST coming here to post this myself. My heart is breaking so much for this family, and in particular, their teenage son. His life will never be the same, and the burden for him will be so big. I can only imagine their pain. I am praying!        Here is a story in The Tennessean that has a picture of Steven with his daughter, Maria who was the victim of this terrible accident.

Oh my goodness! That is unbelievably sad. I went to see him at a concert and he sang and showed the video "When Love Takes You In" all about adopting their first daughter. It was one of the things that propelled us to forge ahead with our adoptions from China. This is just so sad.

Tragic .

It's a fear of mine. There are simply too many teenagers that come and go around my house.

I am always cautioning my teenagers about watching for the younger children around the house, and cautioning the younger ones to never play around the vehicles.

This family definitely has my prayers. Thank you for letting us know so we can lift them up in prayer, Amy.

This is so sad and a parent's greatest fear.
I will be keeping this whole family, especially Maria's brother in my prayers....

I was just coming here to ask for prayers for the Chapman family as well. My heart is SO heavy for them.

My 10 year old daughter, who is a HUGE, HUGE Steven Curtis Chapman fan, is going to be so very sad. I know she'll be praying for them as well. She was also a Steve Irwin fan from the time she was a toddler, and that one hit her hard too.

What a tragedy. I'll be praying for many days to come for this family.........

This broke my heart when I read it this morning. There was another incidence in the DFW area this week of a mother accidentally running over her child in the driveway. I'll be keeping both these families in my prayers.

I saw this in the paper this morning. My heart is just breaking over how heavy a burden his son will carry- how much forgiveness and mercy needs to just envelop all of them. Praying. This is just so, so sad.

I just read this also. How tragic and unbelievably sad. I can't imagine the difficult days ahead for them as they grieve and try to comfort the older child. We also were influenced by their family and adoptions when we were adopting. Praying for them mightily.

There have been several similar tragedies in the last few years that have affected me deeply. I really do find myself hyper-aware of the potential cross...and I pray for all who are touched by these losses.

Love,
