Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

We just found out that a wonderful homeschool family was in a car accident yesterday ... the dad and the 4 children (the oldest is graduating this year from the diocesan high school, and the youngest is 6) are fine as far as we know (a few stitches, etc), but the mom is in hospital with a coma .... please storm heaven for this dear family!

Updated: We just heard the mother is not in a coma as was being reported this morning, but she does have bleeding on the brain.

Yep, and possibly mom will be sent home tomorrow. They're not sure where the bleeding is coming from but she is awake and aware so that helps quite a bit ...

but please do keep the prayers coming ... the chid that was the most hurt, Theresa was thrown thru the car window .... she'll be graduating on Sunday with stitches but praise God, she's alive!

Here's the latest update -- it's all sounding so much better now and I'm sure it's thanks to all the prayer warriors out there. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart for praying for this family ... they are truly special!
Quote:

Karen (the mom) will stay the night but is in good shape for the trauma of the accident -- no broken bones, whip lash, etc., but she will be taking her fair share of Arnica for the possible bruising of her brain, ankle twist, and overall muscle trauma.

Therese (daughter) broke the window with her head but did not leave the vehicle. John and Nicholas (sons, 6 and 15) will be feeling pretty sore soon, but no bruising or broken anything. Quite a miracle considering they were T-boned by a person going through a red light.

Wow. I am just seeing this. Praying for continued healing -- emotionally and physically -- for all of them.

I've been praying, Mary and Mary. Just reading about this brought back difficult memories of our family's auto accident two summers ago...I'm praying with much sympathy. Thanks for updating.

Love,

I am pleased that this is not turning into something life-threatening, praying for their continued recovery.

Just wanted y'all to know what great prayer warriors were praying for this family .... a week after the accident the mom (who has a bruised brain and other aches, etc) was at her daughter's high school graduation! (Her dh did tell my dh that she'll be in bed the rest of the day, but insisted on attending -- she's just like I would be ).

Therese, the one that hit the window and needed the most stitches, was salutatorian!

So thanks so much for all your prayers and good thoughts for this family!
