Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I don't know if anyone is still up, but if you are, please pray for Noel (6 months old). He just woke up with that nasty barking cough that came out of nowhere ... he is very miserable, poor little guy.

Also, this is going to sound crazy, but do any of you more experienced moms know if it is okay to take a croupy kid out in public? My other son is desperately looking forward to an event we're attending tomorrow and I really hate to ruin it for him as it only happens once a year ... I figure the baby will be sick and fussy whether we are home or at the event, and we would not be in close physical contact with anyone. Everything I'm reading online says croup is neither serious nor contagious, and that it gets better during the day ... thoughts?

I'll definately pray! I have a croupy child and have received great answer to prayer when asking at 4Real in the middle of an Australian night...

It's not contagious in itself but he may have another flare-up in the next night if he is out and about, I'd keep Noel warm and out of winds etc and as settled as possible.

Oh, thank you, my Aussie friend! It is good to have friends in places where it is already daylight! Your prayers and advice are appreciated.

If Noel has had an attack before you probably already know but I'd thought I'd pop back and say we find steaming up bathrooms works really well, we have a portable steamer too, since our one child has had a few attacks....just told dh, he's praying too, he greatly sympathizes!

He is a lot better this morning. We ran the humidifier and he seems happy, if a bit stuffy, this morning. We do think he may have a sore throat as he is fighting the bottle a bit and his little voice is slightly hoarse. Continued prayers would be appreciated, it's so hard when the littlest ones are sick, since you can't give them any medicine to help them feel better.
