Ladies, my dh is very depressed. He's always had a tendency that way, but is stubborn and strong willed, so will not talk about it, take medication, look for strategies to avoid it etc - I have experience with mental health issues personally and in the family and this just is sucha struggle to believe that God will carry me on through this as a supportive, loving wife.

He is under stress - related to home renovation projects, his mother, studying, money, our children (who we adore but who come with a lot of issues), and nothing makes him happy, not even successfully adopting DD this week.

I am really battling not to be dragged into his emotions, which is very hard for me to avoid, and to be a good mama and wife when I feel on my own. It is hard to not slap him, say "do this this and this or I will go and live at my parents". He has never been this "bad" and says he feels he is falling apart.

He is not Catholic yet, but says he will convert eventually - so he is not recieving communion (which I think has an impact) and he is not the type to talk to a priest. Please pray for the Lord to help him.
