Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Lately I find myself turning more to the idea of prayer about "trivial" things that are stressing me out.

In this case, if anyone has a moment, I would really appreciate prayers that valuable time/gas/money not be wasted because of what I am afraid may be miscommunication about an upcoming appointment. I am doing my best to correct any possible problem but still fill with dread at the thought of "yet another" setback, even if it's "only" one or two hours of our time (including my husband's work time, since he is the only driver here) and $12 or so in gas.

Praying, Theresa. I also find great comfort in asking for and receiving prayers for my concerns both big and small. Those small ones sure can add up .

Love,

Praying! I definitely understand the power of prayer in the "small things".

Praying...and it's not trivial. All the driving and appointments add up to a colossal amount of time and money, and we're supposed to be wise stewards of the time, talent and treasure God gives us. I know I've spent lots of time lately trying to rework schedules to minimize driving time and waiting time...

Thanks ladies. It sounds like everything should go as hoped. But I guess (not that I'm particularly theologically educated) that the greater value of taking even little things to prayer might be not so much the hope of God directly intervening to bring about the outcome requested, but in trusting God to help with what you really need even if the specific situation doesn't work out as you had hoped. I wanted not to be overly bothered by what might happen almost as much as I wanted not to waste the time and gas and money
