Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Update: Thanks , my anxiety was mostly relieved when it finally flew off the curtain but seemed unable to even climb up the window and stayed in the sill. My husband killed it when he got home and we think it might have been an injured or dying wasp of some sort.

I feel silly, but if you can spare a moment for prayer over this, I'll be appreciative! I may be making a bigger potential problem of this than it is. There's this insect on our curtain that's either a flying ant of some sort, or a wasp (or maybe a hornet or something else bee-like -- I know ants and wasps are closely related but not sure about the rest.) Unfortunately, I am leaning toward wasp.

It's barely moved since I noticed it, probably 45 minutes ago or so. So I'm hesitant to go take a swing at it with some item and possibly just miss and get it moving. It wouldn't be in an easy place to get and I don't know if it would "notice" me approaching. My brave husband should be out for an hour or two longer This would be an especially bad time for anyone to get stung and possibly have an allergic reaction (our 3yo seems particularly allergic reaction-prone). And I'd really like it not just to fly away and get lost in our house so we don't know where it is.

Theresa, have you been able to get it?

No -- it's barely moved for about 2 hours (but it has -- in fact is right now, more than previously) so I'm leaving well enough alone, because I'd have to stand on a couch with broken springs and swing with something big at a lacy curtain in front of a window and maybe miss. I'm just imagining unleashing the wrath of something that only stings when provoked. None of the insect websites have reassured me that this looks more like a big flying ant than a wasp. Could very well be, though.

My husband will probably not be home for another hour or so.
