My dad got hit with influenza, and then pneumonia this winter. He was recovering oh-so-slowly, so my mom insisted he return to the doctor.
They've discovered what they think is a tumor in his neck and he'll be going back on Monday for a CAT scan. Tonight, my mom tells me that this could be the cause for his recent stumbling and also how he sometimes talks and makes no sense.
They're 2000 miles away, so I wasn't aware of those 2 things. I immediately asked if they thought it might be a stroke, and she said she thought of that, but my dad refused to go to the doctor at the time. urgh (Yes, she knows that the sooner a stroke victim is treated the better, but my father is stubborn as a mule.)
He is planning to drive from WI to AZ later this month BY HIMSELF and refuses to change his plans. Well, I suppose he may change his plans after next week's doctor appointments.
Anyway, long way of asking for prayers. We're headed to NC next week and hoping to arrive before my MIL passes away and I am not dealing with this well at all.

Oh, Melanie! What a lot to think about and carry in your heart. Praying for your safety and peace of mind, and praying that the Holy Spirit will touch and direct your father (and for healing as well). What a huge blessing that your mother insisted he go back to the doctor!
