John Paul Kearns
conceived on the Feast of Immaculate Conception, 2006
died at midnight, April 2, 2008, the anniversary of the death of Pope John Paul II
Jack decided tonight which way he wanted to go, and Chris and I were honored and privileged to be with him on his big day. May the Graces that have flowed through our son continue to bear fruit! We love you all, far and near, known and unknown, and thank you for sharing our journey. May God bless you,

Oh, I cried out when I read this! Now I'm trying to explain what's wrong with Mommy to my 3yo ....
I will certainly be in prayer for them. I am so, so saddened by their loss. He fought so hard for so long ...
May God grant him the peace and comfort he so desperately deserves, and give MUCH strength and grace to his parents.

My heart is so heavy today. The girls and I just got back from a prayer service at church for Jack's family. It was beautiful to see how many people could gather so quickly to pray a rosary and Divine Mercy chaplet for his family.
One of the women was on the phone with Jack's mother afterwards. She said the family is doing amazingly well and knows it is due to the graces from all the prayers offered on their behalf. The children are so far handling it well. One of them reminded her mom that they were so blessed to have Jack for so long when they didn't know if he would even make it when he was born.
And I cannot stop marveling that his death occurred on on the anniversary of Pope John Paul's death. Jack was named after our beloved Pope. His family has asked for his intercession on Jack's behalf all along, and clearly John Paul the Great prayed little Jack into heaven!
What a wonderful testimony this family is to the dignity of each person and the value of every life.

Oh my heart is breaking for them! I had not seen this until now. I am so sorry for their loss and so inspired by their acceptance. May the Lord continue to send many, many graces to this family and comfort them in this time of great loss.

We have been praying for Jack and now are offering prayers for his family. Certainly Jack will intercede for grace and comfort for his family.

What a blessed, blessed boy and taken on that particular date, it gives me goosebumps. He is sure to be a VERY powerful intercessory for his family.
