Dear friends,
Could you please pray for dh? He has been having pain in his arm and broke out in a rash on his torso late Monday. Today, his doctor confirmed he has shingles.

None of our kids have had the chicken pox and they have not been immunized for them, either.

Shingles can manifest when a person is stressed and exhausted. DH has definitely been stressed and sleep-deprived.

My mother had shingles last year and it was very debilitating for her. She still has residual nerve pain. I know dh is younger (just turned 42) but he also isn't taking this very seriously. Please pray for him to take time to REST and I don't know if I want the kids to get chicken pox or not, but it's in the Lord's hands, either way.

Prayers for your dh. My dh had them in his eye during a stressful time at work and I got them on my backside    right after 9/11. Prayers for a speedy recovery. By the way, neither my dh or I have had a problem from them ever since (dh had them in 1992).

Praying for healing and for your family.   We had chicken pox only last year.   If it happens that your kids get it maybe that is a blessing in disguise since you will then be done with it.

My dad had shingles and ended up with the residual pain too but I think that's more likely with the elderly; he was immunecompromised too.

Oh Jennifer.

DH got shingles last year also from stress and a compromised immune system -- and the kids got chicken pox soon thereafter (I thought only the 6-yo would get it b/c she wasn't immunized, but no), with no long-term ill effects.
