I received a message from a friend in our former hometown of Lyons, Nebraska, about a local 17 year old HS junior who serves as an altar boy at our former parish, St. Joseph's, who hadn't been feeling well for several months, but doctors couldn't seem to find out what was wrong. A biopsy this week showed that he has a huge cancerous tumor intertwined around his lung, heart and up to his collarbone, around his windpipe, making breathing very hard for him. He was to begin emergency radiation to try to shrink it so breathing is eased, then begin very aggressive chemo. He is a very sick young man, and his family is praying for a miracle and asking for prayers. His name is Jacob. Please take a moment to lift a prayer for Jacob. I believe that miracles DO happen, and that we have a loving and merciful God who answers our prayers. Thank you so much, and have a blessed Holy Week and Easter.
