Will you share in my prayers of thanksgiving for my precious friend and her husband who, after going faithfully thru the annulment process, have had their marriage blessed in the church!!!!
They went thru the annulment process while they were living in California, and since they have a full-time tribunal there (in SC, there is only a part-time tribunal, and the process would have taken MUCH longer here), her annulment came thru in near record time.
The situation was so screwy--she is a convert to our faith, and when she came into the church, her priest told her that her marriage at age 18 "was of no consequence" and so he didn't try to have it annulled then. It was only after she and her husband were engaged that the church told them that it was, indeed, an issue.
The situation was even more painful because she did not receive much support at all from our parish, or our local h/s support group--there was a great lack of charity. Praise God for the wonderful assistance of the church in CA, who enabled this precious family to be reunited with the sacraments.
Just so thankful to God today for blessing this family and that they have been reunited with the church in time to celebrate this holiest week upcoming!

I can definitely identify with this, but my annulment took over a year! I know how great it feels to have the marriage blessed and to finally receive the Eucharist!

That's lovely news. I'm so happy for your friend! (And I know that the marriage tribunal priests in CA work very, very hard. They really try their best to help people find resolution quickly.)
How wonderful that they can celebrate the Triduum with hearts full of happiness...

I knew you'd be pleased to hear the news. Thanks for the prayers. Your family has been in our prayers, as well.
Thank you all, dear ladies, for your prayers of thanksgiving! My sweet friend will be so blessed to know of your support!
