Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I'm embarrassed to be posting about this on many levels, but here goes.

Since having my lovely little boy 4 weeks ago, my prolapse has returned with a vengeance. It is very uncomfortable as soon as I stand up and worse when I walk anywhere. I'm trying to limit my activity levels but that's very hard while also trying to do the right thing by the older children.

Given the state of the NHS, it will have been a week until I see my GP, and goodness knows how long until I see the gynaecologist or the physiotherapist.

Meanwhile I am pretty depressed about it, and also the prospects for the future. Dh (who was dubious about having the baby for this and other reasons) is trying hard to be supportive but is also very anxious about it.

I would be so grateful for prayers for healing, prompt medical attention, and peace.

I'm lifting up the intentions on this board during all those night feedings...

Disregard my ignorance, but what is a prolapse? What part of the body are you experiencing this problem.

Oh Elizabeth, that does not sound like fun...I will be praying for you. Have you thought of drinking Red Raspberry Leaf tea? It has no contraindications, in otherwords are very safe herb in the way we understand chamomile tea to be safe. It is said to strengthen the uterus muscles and is recommended for prolapse:

Quote:
Red Raspberry Leaf: (Rubus idaeus) Therapeutic action: Astringent, nutritive, diuretic, stimulant and tonic. This is an estrogenic herb and has a direct action on the muscles of the uterus helping to tone weakened uterine muscles and relaxing uterine and intestinal spasms. Can also assist in correcting a prolapse of the uterus and vagina. This herb is also used for disorders of the gastrointestinal tract, the respiratory tract and the cardiovascular system. Helpful in purifying the skin and blood.

It might be something that might assist while you are waiting to get into the specialists you need to see..

Many thanks indeed for prayers and advice. (I've got the tea now, Anne, thanks!)

I've seen the GP and he says that it's a cystocele ie bladder prolapse. He didn't refer me to the specialist because it's still early days and there's time for everything to go back to normal on its own. However, I really wanted to be at least on the waiting list because it seems to me that nothing is getting better -- if anything, things are getting worse.

I'm trying to stay positive. I'm still feeling pretty yucky -- physically and emotionally -- but I know that things could be much worse. I can, at least, offer it up.
