Hi All,

My little guy is still in pain, needing quite a bit of pain meds..we are home now, but it has been a very long week, with his surgery a week ago today. I had to take his dressing off of his large incision last night, and the doctor failed to let me know that he had GLUED the dressing on......after both of us were in tears, and I had blessed the whole dressing with Lourdes Holy water....it occured to me to use rubbing alcohol to get the rest of the tape off....this was obviously more than regular tape as it was excrutiating to take off. My poor son, he was sobbing, asking why all of this happens to him....hard to answer a six year old that toughie...pious thoughts just don't cut it when they are in pain and confused why they have to suffer so much. ( I don't mean that irreverantly, it's just that they don't get "offering it up" when they have been in a tremendous amount of pain for a week and at the end of their rope)
So...he is slowly improving, ever so, so slowly...but please pray for all of us...it has been a weary road this past week, I am tired, and everyone is getting a little grumpy and tired too. The actual surgery went well, we won't know if it was totally successful until they do an MRI in May....

I cannot imagine how horrible this is for your little guy! And poor Mommy! I am so sorry he has to suffer so greatly. I will continue to offer up anything for him I can. This must be a terribly difficult time(understatement huh?!). I will pray specifically for his pain to go away, and for all ofyou to rest well.
