Some subject line huh?
Seriously, tomorrow I am taking what is called the "4 tube Cortisol test." I literally have to spit(sorry...TMI! )
into a little tube first thing in the AM,around noon, late afternoon, and before bed. I need prayers for this to go easily(it *sounds* easy...but to actually get the proper amount of saliva-w/o contamination into the tube is...challenging! ) and for the results to be as accurate as possible. First thing Monday AM, I drop my little kit off at a UPS drop-off, where it is flown to a lab in Oregon. The point of the test is to determine how depleted my Adrenal Glands are.
Many thanks!
Christy
***UPDATE*** It was a very long day,due to my poor planning. I was up at 5 AM and wasn't able to go to bed until 11:30 last night. But, all went well. I now consider myself to be an expert in this area of medical testing! Thankyou for your prayers!

Christy--I will be praying. I have a dear friend who suffers with adrenal fatigue syndrome. I know how hard it can be. Many prayers for you.

Christy, I have done this test before, it is a very accurate one, I hope it all goes well and more importantly you get the answers you need.

Update on first page! Angie, you're not alone in the learning! I felt like a live human science experiment to my DC yesterday! (Now that I think about it, so does my insurance company...as they won't pay for it, as it is considered an *investigative test*. )
Thanks for the prayers Ladies!
God Bless,
Christy

Christy
I prayed for you.
I had to do a similar test 2 years ago - I had to "spit in a tube" 30 days in a row between cycles. It was some kind of thyroid test - my ob suggested it.
Is yours for a regular or "natural" doctor?

Hi Marylin,
Well, my doc is both actually! She is a M.D. who is passionate about womens health-especially hormonal issues.(She is anti-birth control.) This includes Peri and Post Menopausal issues,Menopause, Thyroid, and Adrenal issues. She has taken herself out of the pharmacuetical(sp?) and insurance industry loops, so she can practice medicine w/o having to adhere to certain guidlines. This basically gives her more freedom to heal the person individually. She is very progressive, and her approach is well-rounded.
God Bless,
Christy

I'm so glad you were able to find such a doctor. It is such a blessing. I wish there were more of them.

Christy,
Praying for you. Your post caught my eye...Yesterday, I brought one of those tests home with me. I just found out I am hypothyroid and will be checking those adrenals which my OB and I think are depleted also.
God Bless you and yours
