In less than a year my 7 yo niece, Kathryn, is having another open heart surgery. Her condition suddenly worsened dramatically and surgery has to be performed right away.

This one is to replace a valve, and there are some other additions and complications to the surgery to make it very serious. Because it's her 4th time, she knows the pain and all involved and is really, really dreading it.

The surgery is Monday in Boston, far away from home. Can I please ask for prayers for her and the family?

2/5 Update: I didn't hear the news until late last night. The surgery was very long, but went very, very well according to the surgeon. They repaired the valve twice, but the second time looks like it will hold and last for 10 years, which is great news. There were other repairs which were successful, also. Kathryn will be in the ICU for 4 to 5 days, and then an additional 3 or more days in the hospital. The first 24 hours are crucial, so please continue to pray.

2/9 Update Praise report! Kathryn exceeded all recovery expectations. She was released yesterday and in flight on her way home this afternoon.
