Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

My 22 year old daughter left this morning to start her new life in Washington,D.C. I would appreciate prayers for her safe travel and that she finds a nice apartment (near a nice church!). She already has a job and spent last summer in the city for an internship so she knows her way around and has a few friends. I could use some prayers too as this letting go and saying goodbye is pretty hard. Thanks.

Praying! We live right in DC and I would be happy to talk to her about neighborhoods and churches if she needs any assistance.

Thanks everyone, for the prayers and the very kind offers! Tegan arrived in Washington last night after many flight delays and cancellations but without her luggage! It might be in New York or maybe Baltimore or perhaps Philly?? She starts her new job this morning and I know she was not dressed for the office when she left here yesterday morning So maybe some prayers to Saint Anthony?

Thanks Chari! I'm sure it would be worth the trip to California just to eat dinner with you and your lovely family! Oh and I hear the mountains are nice there too!
Tegan just called me and her luggage caught up with her late last night and she was excited to arrive at work today in her own clothes! She was also excited to find a coffe shop with better and cheaper coffee than Starbuck's!
It is an exciting adventure for her and one she has wanted since she went to CPAC several years ago with the College Republicans. She loves the city and thouroughly enjoyed her internship with the National Archives last summer. Me? I'm a small town girl and cities make me nervous. You would have laughed to see her lead me, her father and three little brothers through the metro system last summer!

I spent 6 months in DC living with the Missionaries of Charity - they have morning daily Mass open to anyone - but if your daughter is ever "bored" it'd be a great place to volunteer occasionally. They have many volunteers of all backgrounds.

Blessings!
