Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

When I found our missing bills and read our water meter, I discovered we'd used eight times the water we normally use. After investigating, I found a major leak in our cellar. The plumber came to check it out. It turns out we have two hot water heaters(we did no know this. we thought one was not in use and that the guy that installed the new one was just too lazy to move it), and one of them is bad. We need to shut it off and hire an electrician to disconnect it. So, we have no water right now, dh just made it home with a ton of questions that I have no answers to, and I am really worried about what this is going to cost us. That and just being extremely hormonal, I'm about to blow!

Please pray that this won't be as big a deal as I am afraid it is going to be. Thank you.

Jen

Ugh, Jen, sounds like a mess. Praying it's resolved quickly.

Jen, it really doesn't sound *so very* bad. I mean, you have a working water heater, right? Do you need to replace the other one if you already have a working one? If the electrician just needs to remove the nonworking one, it shouldn't cost a whole lot.

Drink some apple cinnamon tea. That ought to calm your nerves. In the meantime, we'll pray.

Will pray - but something you ought to know is that the utilities will normally give credit for part of the water bill if you can prove a leak and that it was fixed. Save those receipts, etc. and contact your utilities.

Thanks Janet! I'll rememebr to keep track of receipts. Turns out th electric water heater is what was heating ou water. THe plumber can't figure out what the propane water heater(the newest one that the a/c/ guy put in) is doing. He and an electrician are comig tomorrow to try to figure this all out. right now we have no hot water, but the leak is gone, and we do hAve running water. So...it could always be worse. Thank you for the prayers.

Thank you. It all went pretty smoothly. Turns out the old tank was not actually hooked to electricity. It was disconnected and was only a holding tank. Apparently we needed a holding tank for the hot water to work. I don't know. I know nothing about plumbing. All I know is that we now have hot water, and I am grateful for our plumber(who keep threatening to retire) and his retired electrician friend that came right out, fixed things, and are willing to wait until we have our income tax return before we have to pay. Thank for the prayers. They helped me feel less stressed.
