It is with great humility that I ask you to pray for my husband and I...AGAIN. I have discovered porn on the computer (AGAIN) and inappropriate exchanges between him and a woman he works with. We have been married for 9 years and dealing with his "addiction" for our entire marriage. We just recently ended a lengthy period of counseling and I thought our relationship had come a long way since his last period of "acting out." I guess I was wrong. I feel stupid--fooled again! I am just coming to realization that I have absolutely no control over this and I guess he's just going to do what he wants. I feel utterly hopeless and doomed to a loveless marriage at this point.
I've shown him Steve Wood's website and I've looked at the stuff for wives there, too. More than once over the past 9 years.
We've been to counseling.
Retrouvaille is out of the question right now--we have a nursing toddler. There's no way I could be separated from her for an entire weekend.
He attends S*holics Anonymous meetings once a week.
He has an accountability partner--which he is apparently not using!
I don't know what else to do here! Just please storm heaven!

Praying for you. Dh works in Marriage and Family Life and we have seen many couples go through this. It might take something very drastic, like you leaving with the kids- to really get him to a spot where he has to make some changes/choices. We have seen good and miraculous happen when the wife and kids leave. It might seem hopeless but you and the kids are not doomed! Maybe you changing your response to his repeated actions will be the catalyst to healing and change. Praying very hard for you, and for all who suffer from this.
