Please pray for my 10.5 month old baby James. He has had pimples on his bottom for almost a month. One heals and then another one forms. He's been seen by three different doctors, none of them concerned. The pimples drain on their own and then the area heals. I've been putting warm compresses on the area and also Neosporin several times a day (at the drs suggestion). He's hasn't had a fever and is generally happy (which is why the docs aren't alarmed), but I want this to go away. Please pray for him.
If you have any advice or have been through this with your own dc, please tell me. I would really appreciate it. Thanks so much

I think I have heard of this, so I'll try to dredge up a memory. In the meantime, prayers.

Caroline:
How big are they?
How many at one time?
Are they closed until they drain? Or are they open sores for a few days, then heal?
Do you use cloth or disposable?

Suzanne:
They're small to medium.
Usually just one, but a couple of times it looked like there may have been two that were connected, maybe?
Once they come to a head they completely drain in 1-2 days.
Disposable. Do you think cloth would help?
The first time it happened and the dr explained what it was, I wasn't concerned. I figured it would heal and life would go on. It's just that it's been nearly a month and it's still happening. When I took him to the pediatrician last week she told me to give it another 2-3 weeks. But that would be a total of 6 weeks. She said sometimes it takes that long, but I wasn't confident with her answer (and, neither was she really). It probably didn't help that the pimple had mostly drained by the time she saw him and she could barely find the spot I was referring too.
Thank you, everyone, for your prayers and help.

I don't think 6 weeks is nec. long for this. All my girls have had some version of this for 2-6 months. DD-18months is about in her 5th month. Pediatrician isn't concerned unless there are other symptons. They did give me "Mupirocin", a topical abtibiotic, but it doesn't help. the other three just 'grew out of it'....but it's totally frustrating. i would describe them as blisters.
Food?
We use cloth, and when this happens I have to switch to disposable for a while, and then can go back. Maybe yours is a reaction to a certain disposable brand? Or maybe to disposables in general? Do you know anyone from whom you can borrow some cloths to see if it makes a difff?
HTH,

Suzanne, thank you! You're experience is very comforting. I'll try figeting with diapers and see if it helps. It is a relief to hear that the length of time isn't unusual. Thank you, thank you!

Praying, Caroline, and if you haven't already done so, you might want to ask this question at Our Lady of Good Remedy and Care to get some more ideas.
Love,
