Almost 8 years ago my family purchased our first home and as a former Marine, my dh qualified for a miracle mortgage making it a wonderful opportunity...or so we thought.
The former homeowners (house for sale by owner) covered up so much wrong with this house and we are only beginning to see the lengthy damage that this house has. I feel so bad about being lied to, but I feel even worse that everything we have tried to do since we got here to make things better has put us into debt(home equity) so that we never earned any equity on this house and still more needs to be done.
Please pray for dh and I that we can really and truly forgive the former homeowners that knowingly sold this house to a pregnant mom of a young family (us) and forgive them all the health problems and financial problems that resulted from that purchase.
We are stuck. We can't even sell our house to get out of it until it is repaired as we don't want to do to others what was done to us. I am sure God has a path through this muck...but we need to find it.
Would you please, please pray for us?

Donna Marie, you are in my prayers.
About selling the house, could you sell to an investor? Or sell it"as-is"? I know the market is slow now, but if you can find someone to give you at least what you owe, you could just walk away and start fresh. This is what we did when we wanted out of our last house. There was just too much work to do, especially with lots of small children.
