Many of you know Pattie Kelly-Huff from your email lists and as a contributor to Heart and Mind magazine. Her son has been sick since birth and now has pneumonia but was stable this morning. Here is a message she just sent out this evening:
A quick note to ask for some heavy-duty prayers here. Christopher had
stabilized late morning/early afternoon and was able to drink and finally get a
bite to eat. Again, he seemed like his old self and I was happy to see things
were under control. But within the last hour, he has started having problems
again.
About an hour ago, his fever started rising again, heart rate was way up,
respiratory rate way up and breathing labored again. Despite the meds, his body
seems to be resisting them. They just ordered two new antibiotics, one
broad-spectrum and one specifically designed to knock the infection out of his
lungs and respiratory areas. They are stepping up breathing treatments and
another drug to force down his temp has been ordered. He is about as high as he
can go without placing him in a very serious situation.
I'm sure they would love have all of your prayers tonight.

In my email this morning:
Three antibiotics, three fever-reducing drugs, two breathing treatments and
something called EZ Pap which forces open the lungs and he is finally stabilized
again.
