Update 11/10:

We are safely at home. I don't like to talk about our travel info online while we're away, but we flew to and from Germany to visit dd's godparents and our German/American friends via space available military aircraft...and it's always nerve-wracking to sit around and wait to see if you're on a flight. We did get home in time for most of our commitments this week (and ds wasn't sorry to skip freezing on a backpacking trip, lol!).

Thanks for all your prayers; I know they helped keep me calm.

I remembered your prayer intentions in Aachen (Charlemagne's cathedral), Muenster (seat of Catholicism in the Westphalia area of Germany), the church of St. Kastor in Koblenz and in the cathedral in Mainz (Romanesque cathedral, mostly built in the 10th-13th centuries). It was wonderful to be in Catholic areas of Germany and see roadside crucifixes, hear church bells and discover that the pilgrim road to Santiago de Compostela (Spain) runs right near our friends' home! (They plan to walk the whole route, in stages, over the next several years when they are able to take vacation time.)

Thanks again for your prayers, and please know that I've been reading your prayer intentions for the last couple of weeks but have not had lots of time to post replies. I hope it helps to know that I was praying for you in some very wonderful places!
