There is a 7yo boy, his name is Andrew, dying from a cancerous brain tumor. He is in the hospital with an infection right now and not responding to treatment very well. Our entire church has been supporting this family with meals and prayers for many, many months now and we are all so sad about this. As our DRE has stated, Andrew himself does not need any more prayers at this point. He is not in pain, he is not suffering, he is just sleeping all the time. But boy, does his Mama need prayers right now as well as the rest of his family. I can't even type this without tears for his Mom (who's name is Joanne). My constant prayer has been that God wrap his loving arms around her and hold her tight, keep her together. Thank you for adding this family to your prayers.

I am so sorry, Betsie! A 6yo in my son's RE class just had surgery on a brain tumor, so this is something very much on our minds and hearts here. I am adding Andrew's family to our daily prayers. May the Holy Spirit give them the strength and peace that they need.

Ladies,
I just wanted to let you know that Andrew died last night, two days shy of his 8th birthday. His heart stopped Thursday and they revived him and took him to the hospital, but he passed peacefully yesterday. His funeral will be later this week. While I am so sad to see this light go out, I am rejoicing that his soul is at home now, with Jesus and that he is finally able to be whole and healed. But, I can only imagine that his Mama is in excruciating pain right now, as well as his father and brother. I think they really need to feel God's loving arms wrapped around them. Please pray that they are able to get through this together and that their faith remains strong. Please also, pray for our parish, as we have all been praying for this little guy for well over a year now and we are all very sad. And please, please go hug your babies and thank God that you can.

This is close to my heart Betsie, and I'm sorry I never saw the original prayer request. My brother has been suffering with brain cancer for 8 years now. I'm begging his favorite saint to intercede on behalf of this family, that they might experience the mystery of joy in the midst of their great suffering. Also, praying for the repose of this sweet soul!
