Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Before I had a chance to request the prayer, it was answered. My oldest son, Jack went to the ER with a badly cut finger. Turns out that the cut went straight through the flesh, right down to the bone. He only needed 3 stitches and will not have any lasting damage.

Thanks be to God! I was terrified. Brian tracked me down at the store where I was shopping for Caroline's birthday gift. I didn't have my mobile. Scared me nearly to death.

In typical Jack fashion, he was apologetic about ruining his little sister's birthday. And he cut himself with a jack-knife while making his little brother a Christmas gift.

I'm so grateful.

You are welcome, Nissa

I have frequently asked the group for prayers, and never posted about it. Isn't this a great place!

BTW, how old is your son? I have boys here using, or begging to use, their knives for making "Christmas presents"......and I always feel nervous. They remind me that boys much younger than them were using knives for whittling in the "old days"

Glad he is O.K. Praying that the healing of his finger will go smoothly.

He's 13 . Old enough, and educated on safety enough that this should not have happened. Dear. oh, dear.

He's taken it like a champ, though. And when he got hom our 2yo, Sophie was afraid of the "boo-boo". He gently explained to her about the boo-boo and what the doctor did. He even managed to take advantage of a teachable moment to tell her about not playing with anything sharp. So sweet.

She gave him a hug. But still won't go near the boo-boo (which is all wrapped up in a big wodge of guaze).
